For as long as anyone can remember, there has has always been a spot for everyone to gather and rest, refresh themselves before crossing the Great Bridge and entering the City Proper. And, since sometime in the month of Alasair, in the year 128 2E, there has always been a Galbraith working at that spot. It was on that day, that Barden Galbraith set up a stall offering ale and some foodstuffs, to travellers passing to and from the City. In time, he secured permission to build a small building there, enabling him to provide the same service to more customers in a more comfortable manner. He chose to call it the Riverview Tavern, the Inn would come at a later time.

Barden never said what part of Mobrin he'd come from, and since he was an affable sort, willing to lend a hand or shoulder to any task needed in support of his chosen home, no one ever questioned him overly much. He married a local woman named Kaila who gave him two sons. In September of 143, when Laniveer invaded Mobrin, he went along to join the fight, his eldest son following along. Barden returned; his son did not.

The remaining son,Abel, married a woman named Gilda and when Barden quietly followed his beloved Kaila in eternal sleep one night, he took over the Riverview. By this time, the family had obtained a bit of land surrounding the Riverview, building a home in the rear of the property where a small garden was kept. The Riverview was now a two room, single story building adjacent to the public stables. And while accomodations were not offered yet, it maintained a reputation for being quiet and restful, offering good food, relaxation and a peaceful atmosphere. Abel, like his father before him, did not accept any behavior in his establishment that would alter this image.

Abel and Gilda had three children, two sons and a daughter: Aron, Cullen and Liora. The establishment grew, the boys helping their father in running the inn, Gilda and Liora tending the family garden and some beehives. In 174, when the Second War of the Three Kingdoms commenced, the three Galbraith men, father and sons, in the manner inherited from Barden, followed along to help their homeland. Gilda, Liora and the wives stayed behind to take care of the Inn. The men returned, and in the due course of time, Ross was born to Aron and Amara; Chase was born to Cullen and Kylie, and Liora, felt a calling and chose to devote her life to the Light. The land was relatively at peace for sometime. Chase chose to go in service to an un-named Lord, traveling wherever he was told to go. The family rarely hears from him. But, things being as they are not all things remain calm.

It was late in the night, not long after Ross and Maighlin married when a fire broke out in the the Inn. All the family rushed to help but it was a total loss. The Galbraiths gathered and discussed it and decided to rebuild, on a larger scale, this time adding a second floor and a kitchen area, and providing even better access to the public stables. This changed it from being a tavern into an actual Inn and thus it was officially renamed when it reopened during the month of Alasair in the year 199.

Ross and Maighlin gave birth to Daelina in the year 210. Maighlin went to eternal sleep in 224. And while Ross knows that Daelina is more than capable of running the Inn, he still holds out hope that Daelina will marry well and he'll have a grandson to inherit the Inn after her.
