Shazaa was born in the Kundari Desert, his father a war chief for the Tribe of Shoshen. Like all other Kundari, his tribe was nomadic. They have wondered the entire desert for thousands of years. Shazaa grew up learning the way of his people. Among all the Shoshen, there were over two hundred. Growing up, Shazaa was always bigger than the other boys his age. He was a physical specimen. He could run faster, and jump higher than the others. He was a real phenomenon. He was taught by his father to be a warrior of the Shoshen, and he quickly became known as the greatest Shoshen warrior.

When Shazaa was twenty-five, his tribe was defeated by another group of desert nomads. Outnumbered three to one, the Shoshen were defeated, though they fought viciously, and nearly destroyed the enemy completely. Only seven Shoshon escaped the carnage, and Shazaa was one of them. He wondered the desert aimlessly, falling in with various tribes at time, fighting for food, but traveling alone most of his days. One day, he met a wiseman in a tribe he was traveling with. The wiseman told him that his fate was to go 'that way' and apparently he pointed east. He said that Shazaa would encounter many beasts, defeat many enemies, and find his fortune, if he went east. So, Shazaa set out. From the desert, he traveled across Weston, into Lakeshire, then to Darfield. Along the way, he has made a small fortune by gambling in taverns, working as a mercenary, and even breaking horses at times. He has arrived in Darfield with a pocket full of gold, but his arrival is bitter-sweet. He can go no further. His journey is over. Now, he must contemplate what to do next. Maybe there is another wiseman?
