Born to Count Aldric Haravean and his wife Bedwyn Haravean, Lady Rorey Haravean is the second youngest of six children. When she was younger, Lady Rorey often struggled to get enough attention from her parents, which may have led to some of her antics as a child. She was a playful young girl who had a hard time focusing on her lessons and sitting still. She snuck around the castle, often going where she was told not to.
On one of these adventures she overheard a bard playing the flute, and became so enraptured listening to him that she didn't notice when a guard found her. The guard took her to her father immediately, and she was punished for being where she wasn't supposed to — but she had found a purpose, she wanted to learn music. After some time her father consented, and allowed her to learn first the flute, followed by the piano and harp, and eventually singing lessons as well.
Lady Rorey was quite talented and improved in her other lessons as time went on. She grew into a passionate and lively young woman who loves to help others and entertain. She has a soft heart though and could rarely stand violence; in fact, after her father's death she began to fear it. The sight of blood scares her and will often make her faint. Regardless of this, she trained in archery under the watchful eye of her brother and expert trainers, and while she is an excellent markswoman, she refuses to shoot living animals and will not hunt deer, pheasants, or other game.
Now with her brother leading the family she is happy to cheer him up when he needs it, and to help where she can. She likes her sisters, being close to all of them and is fiercely protective of Brendolyn. Her mother's death hit her hard, and it will still be some time before she can fully let go of the grieving.
Still single, her siblings constantly put her under pressure to marry — but she firmly believes such things should not be rushed, lest they end in disaster. Unknown to all but her pillow at night (she dare not even put such things in a diary), part of her reluctance to marry is a secret fixation on one Lorcan Moncreiffe, whom she has admired from afar for the longest time. She doesn't know why he left so suddenly and hopes one day he will return. She was very excited about going to Darfield castle and hopes to become a lady in waiting to the Queen.
