Throne Room, Darfield Castle
The feature of the Throne Room of Darfield Castle that draws most eyes immediately is the magnificent throne, raised on a dais at the far end of the room. The Kilgour Family coat of arms, passed down from father to son through the centuries, occupies a place of honor above the royal throne.
A rug of purple softens the path across the white marble floor, swirling patterns picked out in glinting silver thread. To each side of the rug, stand tall silver vases of Stargazer Lilies and Irises, their heady scent drifting through the air. The cool marble walls have been draped with mingling swathes of purple and silver silk, with touches of white for smooth contrast. Set about the room, tall silver candelabras hold long purple tapers, their soft glow gleaming on the rug and silks. On the balcony above, more swathes of purple and silver silk have been draped, shimmering with a scattering of silver glitter. More glitter is dusted across the marble floor, and over the soft petals of the flowers.

The wind enters the Throne Room peacefully. The silk of the various decorations move gently, and the sun steals the brightness of the Crown of Mobrin, resting over Callem and the usual inquisitive look he has when attending audiences. The King is now wearing a fine purple robe, lighter in tone than what he normally uses. Servants rush around to keep the place clean, in what it seems to be one of the last meetings to take place today.

"Zedarious Odric Davriel." A guard at the entrance announces. "His Royal Majesty, King Callem Kilgour." he says to the newcomer in turn. The sovereign nods in salute and awaits in silence for the time being.

Zedd steps in as his name is given, wandering along into the throne room and as he reaches before the throne he falls down to kneel, "Your majesty, it is an honor." He offers. Staying on his knee as he waits for either being allowed to rise or the conversation being over. His clothing showing that he does have money to keep himself quite finely groomed and showing that he does have a bit of money, for a commoner.

"Rise, please." Callem says, leaning a bit to a side and examining the man for a while. "Zedarios. The same famous merchant of Stormvale, I presume." his voice is softer, but not really sounding as a question. "Please, tell me why have you come here to the Throne. Is there anything that I can do to help you?" not overly warm, but not cold or distant, either.

Zedd smiles and nods, "Well. My family has done quite a few things. My father helped with paying and arranged for several shops. Currently I would say entreprenuer." He explains and smiles. "The reason I came is to extend what I have. I am doing a lot to try and advance the town. All I wish is to try and run the city. Though I would need to be appointed by you." He explains and smiles. "So perhaps it is a bit of us helping each other."

A moment of pondering takes place. Though the first premise about the man's entrepreneur demeanor steals a little smile, the King's eyes narrow after the final statement. "Us helping each other." he echoes, extending his hand to receive a cup from a servant by his side. "So, what is exactly what you are asking me, and what is exactly what you are offering me?" a moment to let Zedd continue is given.

"I offer to make your work easier. I handle the town and I report in about it." He explains. "A mayor like position. I run the city along with the city watch. I do the management of the city. So basically I do what you do but in this city. I make sure that the city is running smoothly and grow and thus it makes your own kingdom grow. What I gain is development. I get to lead one of the largest cities." Zedd explains and watches curiously. Hands clasping behind his back and seems quite calm.

"I see what you want." Callem now leans a little forward, examining him with his gaze and smiling a little. "You have valor. Coming here to ask such title in such a direct way. Do you think you are the first one to ask me for it, entrepreneur?" he chuckles a little and continues. "Well, probably you are. And probably, just probably, I am in need of someone to take care of the matters of this city. Someone who reports to me, and only to me. Some who takes enough control and tells me every secret in this streets. So, if you think you can manage it…" the cup is returned, still untasted. The servant, with a confused look for both the King's answer and his lack of drinking, shrugs and steps backwards. "So be it. Just keep everything in place as if your life was depending on it." he winks and returns to lean back on the Throne. "Well, it actually does."

Zedd laughs and shakes his head, "I might or I might not. Although I think I am the only one that is known through all of Stormvale and the family name is known in at least Dellhaven, Brookfield and here. But most likely most of Mobrin knows Davriel." He suggests and shrugs. "Though not only the family, I've been around in Stormvale and helped push the market to prosper and my skills in running businesses and lands are known well. Though let us not take just my words. I think as the king you know quite well what most are capable of. After the display at the days of Sheat I think order is required, that is all." Zedd says and grins a bit light heartedly. "Apologies for speaking for so long. This city is what I strive for to be great. So all I wish is to push it towards that." He explains. Nodding as the king goes on. "Well, I am sure I can manage." He says and smiles. Bowing deep, "Thank you, your majesty."

Laetitia is here, listening. See her, off in the corner, watching her Husband work, pride in the Queens eyes as she hangs back, her ladies sorted around her as they giggle and press into the Queen, murmuring things to her, the Queen laughing faintly as she stays back, a light swat given to one of her ladies. But she will listen oh so keenly, appraising the new Mayor of Stormvale, though her eyes do quickly go back to the hotness that is her husband, because, well. Inappropriateness.

"Of course." Callem concedes, for he had even recognized him by the time he entered. "I plenty know of your father and your family, my lord. And there is nothing to apologize for. You will put your skills at test, surely. But first. Kneel, please." his voice grows solemn and stronger, more martial and slow. And, if Zedd indeed kneels, he will continue.

"Zedarious Odric Davriel." a scribe, now placed by the side of the throne, takes note in a parchment. "I, Callem of House Kilgour, King of Mobrin, grant you the title of First Citizen of Stormvale. May the news spread across the city and you rule rightfully, guided by the Gods, the Queen, and the King. Now rise, Mayor Zedarious."

After the speech, Callem returns to a more relaxed position on his seat and gives a long look to Laetitia. Perhaps not exactly related with the duty he is performing, but a look she knows very well.

Zedd nods and kneels as the king speaks. Eyes might go to the queen and her ensemble. Giving them a small smirk before keeping his head down and letting the king go forth. As the royal finishes he will rise to his feet and bow his head one last time. "Thank you, your majesty. I will do what I can not to disappoint." Then looking between king and queen with a grin. "Although perhaps I am keeping you from more pleasant company."

Laetitia totally ..knows that look. And she returns it, a saucy look given his way as she stays out of the way still no doubt waiting for Zedd to leave because, well. Husband. Though she will step out and offer in a warm tone, "Congratulations, Zedarious Odric Davriel."

Callem chuckles a bit at Zedd's words. "Don't take offense, Mayor. But no company in Daeren could match the one of the Queen." his head is tilted to the side. "I trust you won't, my lord. The entire realm does. And let me congratulate you. If you need anything, General Z—Excuse me," he corrects, "Mayor Zedarious, don't hesitate to ask me." the King, then, smiles to the Queen for a long moment and seemingly prepares to leave the room.

Zedd chuckles and nods to Callem, "True enough." Raising a brief brow at the general part. But even the king can have off days. "Of course, thank you. I shall leave you two alone." He says and bows before turning to leave.
