Layla is a dancer and entertainer who works at the House of Repute (yay another one for the fun team!). She is specialized in performing several sensual dances such as bellydancing and the dance of the seven veils. Her slightly exotic appearance being another plus.
How she came to work there is a long story. Her parents were part of a group of jugglers and entertainers, her mother a Dyfan actually while her father was a Kundari outcast. Most others of the group were from far away lands. The exotic ingredient proved quite successful, and Layla soon took part in their performances, as an element of comic relief at first, and later as a girl dancer. The dances she would perform then, much more innocent of course. When she was twelve they were staying in Stormvale for a week during a faire. During that faire there were some riots. Her family was seized, as well as most of the others of her group. Some were killed, and there was that fire. Until the riot was put down, by the men of the City Watch. And suddenly Layla was alone, apart from a young woman of some Jaddan roots called Farah. It was Farah's idea to go into hiding. She started to work at the Docks, as a prostitute. Layla stayed with her. When she was 16 she started to walk the streets as well. Life was dangerous, and sometimes they would suffer from animosities towards foreigners. Farah was beat down once, and they were robbed or even cheated over their fare now and then. It was when the House of Repute opened in 226 that Layla and Farah were recruited right away, for the more exotic tastes. Since then Layla has found her niche of exotic dances.
Much of her trade she has learned from Farah, such as some seductive dances and the art of massage. She is of the opinion, that Farah and her have a more refined approach in their trade, they offer more diversity, but will charge more from their customers. Nobles prefered, when it is possible, as they mostly pay well for her services.
During her time with the jugglers she acquired a little skill with impersonation and acrobatics; but also a little knowledge in first aid and useful herbs. She speaks very little Kundari, only few bits she has picked up from her father, but not really fluently, as Daereni is her main language.
