Moniwid Suite, Darfield Castle
The first thing usually noticed about this room is the sense of openness, as it is not laden with heavy furniture. The floor is a soft grey marble. One wall features a huge window, taking up almost the whole wall and showing a lovely view of the horizon. To the right of the window, there is a stone fireplace decorated with amber and some old carvings. There is an incredibly cozy couch in front of the fireplace, in a dark brown cotton type material.

In the middle of the room, there is a burnished oaken long table with eight matching chairs. There are eight crystal place settings ready for use. A wild flower centerpiece has been placed on the table as decoration. The floor of the dining area has been covered with the prey of some hunter in the form of a brown bear fur rug.

There is a smaller wooden door, leading to the Grand Duke's Room, on the left wall of the room . On both sides of the door, small candles are available to provide light when it is dark. There are also candle sconces on the other walls and a candelabra on the table. Above the fireplace, the prey of some other hunters resides: two deer heads with beautiful antlers can be found, one to each side. Between the deer, the edges of two sharp, crossed swords glint.

36th day of Sess, 229

It is evening, and Emerit is alone in her chambers. Not exactly alone as both her chaperone Valaria and her handmaiden Yulanda keep her company, but indeed, the Mist of the Island has been very much keeping to herself these past days. The dreadful news of the King's death and the assault in the Great Hall may be a sufficient explanation. Her fiery hair is worn in a braid today, and the dark green dress she wears is plain and devoid of any embroidery. Any jewelry is absent as well. At the moment the young woman sits on the couch before the fireplace, her bare feet drawn up under her skirts as she stares into the flames.

There's a knock on the door. Drav doesn't call these rooms home anymore, so she doesn't feel she can just walk in. She's dressed in a apple pink gown, that's some where between a proper gown and a bed one. Understandable though, as her head is wrapped in a matching pink cloth, almost turban of sorts. Clearly Alice is trying the best she can, with Draventa's wounds. She's healed enough to go walking, but not enough to not have Alice's arm. Almost like before the Temple. She's leaning heavily on her maid's arm, and is seaying ever so slightly as she stands.Behind her are four Kilgour guards. One more than normal.

Emerit will move to open the door herself. Her face may look a bit pale, yet her lips will curve into a smile once she sees who comes calling on her. "Draventa,…" she mutters, her eyes widening, before she lowers herself into a curtsey and offers a belated: "Your Highness." Her moss green eyes flitting towards the four Kilgour guards, she will look indeed a bit alarmed. "They don't have to enter, do they?" This in Draventa's direction. "But you do! Please come in and sit down. Or would you prefer to lay down on the couch?" Concern flickering in her gaze as Emerit studies the Kilgour attentively.

Draventa gives a soft smile and starts to slowly step in. The guards though, without asking permission step in as well. they go where the princess goes. No exceptions. Her smile falters as they do, even with the head wound she knows this isn't quite right. "I seem to have more shadows now than before." The Kilgour princess sways slightly as she heads towards a chair. "No…No laying down. I fear I'll turn to stone if I lay anymore." She's still alarmingly pale, but her eyes are clearer. Alice looks worriedly at her, but doesn't say anything. Drav states, "I was hoping my room hadn't been completely cleared out? I'm looking for a book I was reading…It's on fairy tales from Morbin." It's hard to tell if it's an excuse, or if that's what Drav is really here for.

Her moss green eyes widen when /four/ Kilgour guards step into the room after Draventa. Emerit's face will turn pink for a moment, before it regains its paleness from before, her hands clasping before her as she inclines her head helplessly. "Who am I to object," is her plain answer, as she closes the door once all who wish to enter are safely inside. "Pray sit then," this uttered in Draventa's direction, with a slightly shaky voice, as Emerit moves over towards the couch, her bare feet tapping over the stone floor. "Shall I send for any refreshments?", she adds, after resuming her seet from before, relief showing in her mien, when her feet are safely back under her skirts. Draventa will certainly notice a difference in the way Emerit carries herself, there is an insecurity to her that has not been there before, the confidence of the former Ambassador gone, as if it had never existed. "Your room? No,… It is still in the state you left it in, your highness." A faint smile there. "Shall I go and look for this book?"

Draventa frowns slightly as she sits, something isn't right, but she can't put her finger on it. She know they talked…at least she hopes they did. There's been so many dreams, and everything is very confusing now. She barely remembers the wedding. "Water, please." They've barely let her have anything but water, it seems. A hand will come up to rub her eye a moment, making her looking like a sleepy kid, trying to stay awake. "Alice can look. It's not imperative. I just….Prince Logen only seems to have war books." That's not true, but she needed a reason to get out of that room. Her lips purse softly, "They won't let me walk on my own yet. It's worse than the snake bites, I think."

"It is worse?" Emerit's brows jump upwards with concern, a hand wave is given to Yulanda to fetch the water. "I had hoped you already feel better." Her hands folding before her, her gaze will flit towards the guards before she leans a bit closer towards Draventa and lowers her voice to a whisper that is almost a hiss, given the emotions that are boiling within her. "There have been rumors already, your highness. I don't know for how much longer I can stay in these walls." Before someone throws her out. "Someone…" her gaze flitting to noone in particular, "has dropped hints as to who my father was, and it seems they are already gossiping in the servants quarters." Straightening again, she will add with her voice back to normal: "But it is good you are able to walk. It is a good sign, is it not?"

Draventa nods, but it's slow, like she's trying to not throw her balance off, "It's….different. I feel as if I've lost my land legs…" She'll give the smallest of shrugs, "The pain is not too much, but I do not like this sinking feeling." Drav blinks and frowns again, her eyebrows coming together. She's not heard of any of these rumors. But then again, who's going to tell her? She'll inhale, like she's going to ask a question, but then Emerit is pulling back. Uusally Drav is quicker than this, but she'll sit there blinking at Emerit, unsure what to say. Finally she'll respond, "I…I hope so. The Royal Healer said something about surgery…but I think that is not needed." Cause, yikes. Brain surgery.

"Surgery?" The concern in Emerit's gaze grows and she reaches out to pat Draventa's hand if she will alow it. "That's dreadful." Then after a moment, she will inquire: "Your headache… has it increased since it happened? Or are you just feeling dizzy?" Noticing the blinking, the Mist of the Island will lean a bit closer again: "I haven't spoken with Mantilo, didn't get the chance to do so. As he has already departed for Rustles Isle, suddenly on the day after we spoke. You know him. Unpredictable as always. It seems he acted on a sudden whim, as usual." Her hand squeezing Draventa's hand lightly.

Draventa doesn't pull away from the touch although looks down at Emerit's hand. There's a small sway in her seat and the Princess tries to decide how to respond, "It hurts…no more than usual." Not that that really explains anything. Her eyes do suddenly look a bit dull, like the little bit of blue that they held is gone. She lets a soft sigh escape her lips. Mantilo is making this situation very difficult. "That….that can't be helping the …rumors…" Her hand comes up again, but this time to touch the turban, on the side the sword caught her head. "Are we allowed to leave the castle yet? I want to go to the bakery that did the pastries for the wedding and thank him. Have you been? It's so wonderful there."

Emerit will study Draventa's eyes with surprise, but then again, maybe they've lost their sparkle only temporarily, and due to the injury to the head. The question will have her shake her head though. "I don't think we are allowed to. I've never visited the bakery, but I think I've tasted some of his pastries at the Riverview Inn once. A good choice, by the way, Draventa. I think I have not had the chance to congratulate you on how well you planned the wedding festivities."

Who would have ever thought the two Moniwids would be sitting around talking about weddings of all things. Anther sigh comes from the princess, "I don't understand, if they were all killed, why are we not allowed to leave?" She sounds almost confused, very unlike herself. Drav's clearly trying to work something out in her head, but it's not clicking and she'll huff softly, annoyed at herself. "Thank you….it was…I based everything on the stars…" Again, that doesn't quite make sense, but Drav's always been a bit of a dreamer, so maybe she's just being poetic? She'll turn to look at her maid, "Alice…I want my book, please."

"Maybe… they are afraid of more ambushes of the kind. There has been a poison attack as well on the council, I hear.", Emerit explains, her gaze lowered. "attacks like these tend to stir the paranoia towards strangers. And I am sure they mean to offer better protection within these walls, to all of us." The remark about the stars has Emerit raise her brows. "You have based everything on the stars?" Not getting her meaning there, it seems. A glance towards Alice will follow. "The book, yes… Maybe you need to rest again, your highness. You have already exerted yourself with this visit. Although I am most grateful for it." Pondering to add more, before she falls silent, the Mist of the Island will lower her gaze.

Draventa's eyes widen at the news of the poisoning and he hands flutter up to her chest. Two of the four guards give each other looks, but don't sway anything. "There was?!? Was anyone…are…is everyone ok?" This news is upsetting. She'll just nod absently about the stars, "Yes….starlight in hand." Alice nearly leaps up and rushes off to fin the book, wishing to get her princess to bed. She's afraid she'll start rambling again soon. Speaking of the late Grand Duke. It's unsettling. If Drav notices the silence, she doesn't comment, instead swaying lightly. It almost looks like she's listening to music. Alice finds the book and quickly returns. "Your highness….We should get back. Prince Logen will be worried…"Alice helps Drav up as the princess scowls slightly. Drav responds, "He doesn't like me." Her eyes are glazed though, she may be confusion things again.

"I have heard little, the Duke of Sutherland was affected and still recovers from the consequences," Emerit will reply, her gaze following Alice as she moves to get the requested book. She will rise when Alice announces they should depart. "Draventa, please,… You should rest. I didn't mean to unsettle you. If you feel the need to speak about… certain things, feel free to send for me and I could visit you in your new quarters." Her brows twitch at the information about Logen though.

Draventa nods, but it's not clear if she's really hearing Emerit's words. Alice will give The other Moniwid a deep nod of the head, but is too worried about Drav to do much else. She'll hurry Drav off. Emerit can see the princess throw one last confused look towards her before she's escorted from the room, guards and all.
