Dylan Mowbray was the second born child of Eldan and Mairin Mowbray. He was proceeded into the world by his twin brother Declan, by only about 5 minutes. Days later his grandparents gave him two new Aunts, Eva and Emma. Declan's father was never meant to be Baron of Mowbray as he was the younger of a set of twins himself. However when Dylan was a toddler his Uncle Torian was killed in a riding accident making his father the new Heir to the Barony.
The same year his Uncle Torian died, Dylan also lost his grandparents and gained two sisters. When his grandparents died, his father became the new Baron, and took in Emma and Eva to raise as his own. As such Declan and Dylan were raised alongside their slightly younger Aunts as if they were siblings. One would think having four children all roughly the same age would have meant that his mother never wanted another child, but such was not the case.
Dylan watched the joy and pain his parents experienced as Mairin would get pregnant and the child would die either before birth, or shortly after birth. It was not until he was around 12-13 that his parents gave him a final sibling, his little sister Elyssa. The family would not have long to rejoice the birth of Elyssa, as Eldan had to go off and defend their home from the Laniveer invasion of Weston. Eldan never even got to see his daughter until after the battle of Westgate.
Dylan always knew that unless an accident befell his sibling, he would never run the barony, and he was okay with that. In truth he always wanted to follow his father's footsteps and join the Rioga. Knowing that was Dylan's dream, Eldan arranged for a place for his youngest son. Shortly after the battle of Westgate, Dylan was squired out to Charles Leask, leaving his twin's side for the first time in his life… leaving his family for the first time in his young life.
Shortly after Dylan was sent off, Eldan, Mairin and baby Elyssa went on a nice carriage ride that turned the Mowbray's world upside down. Dylan was informed that his mother was gone and his father was gravely injured in a carriage accident of all things. While he returned for his mother's funeral and was given time to mourn, he was ready to throw himself into his duties and make his father proud.
Dylan has been a squire to Charles Leask for almost 4 years now. He has missed much of his little sister growing up but he stays in contact with his family. He was happy to hear when his father finally left Weybury and headed to Stormvale, finally willing to get back out into the world after the tragic accident left him paralyzed. Declan looks forward to seeing his family again as Charles heads back into Stormvale himself.
