Baby of the family is Cordelia, born the eight child, the seventh daughter to Morcant and Cora, Lord and Lady of House Horizon. Being the last born has it's advantages - it means that more often than not, no one seemed to really care that she was following after the others, picking up on a variety of things. Of course, her elder siblings occasionally complained, but nothing truly came of it. It was enough in dealing with her at times, her moods shifting as if with the moon itself. One day she was adventurous, another day mopey. The family learned to deal with her ever changing mood.
From a young age, it was obvious that she had a voice like no other. Without much training, she could sing like a bird, or as others said, like the Siren's of the sailor's stories that they might tease her with. These sailors taught her other things, like acrobatics, juggling, and how to play cards, much to her mother's delight. It was then that her mother made sure she took lessons in those things that a lady should know, from running a household to sewing neatly.
Yet, she is Horizon, and knowledge of the seas would be an asset. She often snuck in on talks her father or elder brother would have, picking up on the skills of astronomy, navigation, and eventually, how to sail a ship. And yet, while out one day on a horse, she and her brother would become separated from their group. While he thought the way back laid in one direction, his sister insisted it was in another - and she was right. HE would test her a few times, discovering along with her, that she always seemed to know where north laid, and from that, which direction they needed to go in.
Her father also taught her, as he did all his children, how to swim. It is something that Cordelia loves, and when the weather allowed, could be found down along a private beach, diving beneath the waves to explore the world beneath the surface. With practice, she could stay under the surface for an exceptionally long time, diving deep to find the treasures that could be found there.
As she grew older, there came a point where she was to be taught about some of the exports of Sky Forest. She would be sent to Forrester to learn alongside a few others there proper etiquette, and those things that so many within excel at - the skills of a ranger. She learned the basics well enough, though it was the apothecary skills that intrigued her more, and upon her return home, she found an old lady who knew those things about the sea. From her, Cordelia would learn what was good to eat, what could be used to heal a person, and what things were poisonous and should be left alone. These were the secret treasures from the sea.
Her elder sisters have all made matches, some married. And now it comes time for Cordelia. Negotiations are being made, much to her surprise, to have her wed to none other than Count Harmon Forrester. Now she travels away from home towards Stormvale to meet the Count and get to know him better.
