A foot soldier turned hedge knight from a long line of men who fought as soldiers, Cass Maxwell fought under the banner of House Crawford for many years. He fought in skirmishes and full on battles alike, proving himself to be brave, stalwart and personable, traits that'd serve him well. While he managed to secure a position as squire when a boy he was denied any noble title nor land given to claim as his own when knighted, leaving him naught but a roughly-made sword and a few scraps of armor he managed to scrape together, often little pieces found on the battlefield post fight.

When Trueborn Keep was attacked he was off with Ronan Crawford who was north at the border. When the discovery of what happened was made he vowed to continue serving, the Duke given promise that he'd never stop doing so until either justice was served or his life was taken from him.

Physical Features

A man in his forties, Cass looks perhaps a few years younger but not by more than that. He bears the look of a man who has been out in the elements and has more than a few scars to his name, the most noticeable being a thin one that graces his right cheek in the shape of a jagged '7'. While fairly tall he lacks a heavily-muscled physique, his strength hidden in a build that is fairly slender for a man who fights with a sword.

What clothing and armor he can be seen wearing is befitting a man of his station with much of either being in need of repairs, a good cleaning, or even both.
His armor has been scavenged off of bodies of enemies or found upon the battlefield itself, a mismatched set of plate and chain mail that is dented and/or rusted. The only piece of armor that is in any good repair is his helm, that a gift from the knight he trained under, a gift given upon the eve of his 'knighting'.

Loyal To No End:Cass' loyalty to House Crawford knows no bounds.
Chaste: Until the war sees its end, he will not bed down with a woman.
Slow To Anger: The hedge knight is not easily made angry. That does not mean he's a push-over, however.
Stubborn: Self-explanatory.
